How is everyone find York Gardens Library now that's it a 'Big Society' run venture?

The Library has been beautifully refurbished and has now reopen.As a user and a stakeholder, I am really happy that the library remain opened but we face various challenges.

The first one is getting volunteers. To run as a big society library, we need to have 12 to 16 volunteers per week, so if anyone is interested to give up some of their time, please contact yorkgardenslibrary@gmail.com.

The other challenge of the library is that we need to raise £ 70.000 to achieve the library financial figure. We have beautifully renovated space and a massive big hall to rent. If you are holding an event, why not using the library ?

Finally if you really want to support the library, come and take some books....

We have a christmas fayre on the 17th of December, come and visit.

I'm so impressed with the volunteers, but I think library workers should be paid! Hope lots of money was raised at the Xmas fayre. Nice pictures
