Wandsworth Council has warned people planning a water fight in Battersea Park in July against staging this event.

The council has said that those who do take part could be prosecuted and have to pay £200.

Dogs will patrol the gates to stop ‘water fighters’ in their tracks as an organised one in Hyde Park on June 4th caused disorder with some arrests being made and traffic being unable to go down Oxford Street.

And guess where the Battersea Park water fight is being organised? Facebook of course!

The event asks participants to “bring water guns, ballons, buckets, anything that carries water-apart from glass bottles”.

There are currently 87 guests attending!

Just in case you decide to opt against entering the water fight, but want a big get together in Battersea, why not celebrate the Big Lunch where you dine with your neighbours on July 18th? The lunch can take place anywhere from parks to carparks!

Do you think people should be allowed to have water fights? Or does crowd mentality set in and threaten order? Is it even going to be hot enough for a water fight?! Are you planning on going to the event? If so, how old do you think the people taking part will be? D’you reckon it’ll be primarily young people? Is having dogs there going a bit far? Let us know!

people should be allowed to have water fights, the weather will be hot and we are teens... thats what the summer is about! Im not going but if i think it isnt fair and its a public park we should be allowed to have fun there, if others are allowed to play football or rugby in the middle of the park thne we should be able to have a water fight ... the ball obviously goes oof the pitch and obstrusts public and the aim of the water fight isnt to aim at the public, the ciuncil should lighten up and tackle the more serious problems rather then kids having fun
