The first day of the Foodies Festival in Battersea Park has been and gone... and with it came this world record attempt to make the biggest ploughman's ever.

It's made from 1 tonne of Seriously Strong cheddar, 160 bloomers, 21 kilos of lettuce, 60 kilos of tomatoes, 1500 spring onions, 100 litres of pickle, more than 6000 pickled onions and 175 kilos of butter.

We could only feast our eyes on this piece of food art today... and then spectators were allowed to feast on it.

It was commissioned by Seriously Strong Cheddar and constructed by chef Paul Merrett - it took 400 hours to complete.

The Foodies Festival will be going on for another two days - there seems to lots of excitement on Twitter - a simple 'foodies festival' search brings up a load of connosieurs' views.@AdventuresOfAFoodie says it's the best food show London has to offer.

Let us know what you make of it if you're going. Hopefully the weather will hold out... forecasters are predicting lots of sun in the next week!
