MP Jane Ellison, Wandsworth Mayor Jane Cooper and musician Chris Difford were just some of the people to grace a post-riot fundraiser held at The Grand in Clapham Junction last night.

The money raised will go to Victim Support and St Mark's Church in Battersea.

A variety of local talent took to the stage with entertainment including rapping, Cuban music and stand-up comedy.

A particular highlight was seeing Wandsworth Mayor dance with organiser Charlie to an impressive Cuban band.

Headlining act Chris Difford sounded fantastic as did his guitar.

Speaking to Battersea People, MP Jane Ellison said: "I'm here tonight as this is a good cause going on in my constituency.

"I was extremely distressed on the 9th August by the rioters and extremely proud of my constituency on the 10th - the Broom Army is one of the most positive images of the riots, seeing the community rally together like that."

A steady stream of people entered The Grand throughout the evening... it was great to see a variety turn up.

Ooh, and one couldn't help looking over at the Mayor to try and see her reaction to some of the crude jokes made by a comedian on stage (couldn't quite see her reaction in the dark though sadly).
