64-year-old thrillseeker Rocky Taylor, who's played James Bond's stunt double, is going to jump 40ft from a building near Battersea Power Station this coming Tuesday.

He almost died doing the jump the last time in the 1980s - fracturing his spine and pelvis - but he insists he has to have another go to get it out of his system.

The last time an explosion at the old Lambeth Hospital sent him falling to the ground in flames. He totally missed the cardboard placed to break his fall and landed on concrete. It was on the set of Michael Winner's Death Wish in 1985. He was meant to jump off a building with petrol sprinklers lit around him.

The Daily Mail quotes him as saying: "It makes my stomach churn thinking about what happened the last time I did it.

"But it will do me good to get it out of my system.

"I remember the pain and the smell of smoke... I was incredibly lucky that day.

"I still have a nut and a bolt inside me from the operation and still suffer internal problems because of the injuries I sustained."

The jump put him out of work for six years.

As well as playing James Bond's stunt man for Roger Moore and Sean Connery, Rocky has also been in Titanic and Batman.

His jump will be screened live on Facebook.
