Speaking to Sky News from Battersea, George Osborne has been informing us how the government plans to invest £30 billion into transport and roads.

Some of the funding will come from government savings, more about which will be revealed tomorrow when the Chancellor makes his Autumn Statement.

A lot of the funding will apparently come from the private sector from pension funds.

In the case of the Northern Line Extension, it's hoped any shortfall will be funded through the opportunities created as a result of the development.

Mr Osborne said investment in infrastructure was a "priority" in difficult financial circumstances. He continued: "Here, we're talking about an extension of the tube line that could create 25, 000 jobs on this site."
